Indigo, A Beautiful, Blue Morning at O'Brien Farm

Join artists Susan Furneaux and Jennifer Cake for a morning exploring the magic of indigo dye. This true-blue, plant-based natural dye dates back millennia.

Try your hand at shibori stitched-resist, fresh leaf indigo and refresh an item of 100% clothing in our community indigo vat. Learn shibori and apply it to your garment if that is what tickles your fancy!

The workshop fee covers all materials except the garment for the community vat. Only one garment, please. It MUST be natural fibres: 100% cotton/linen or silk (for example: hat, t-shirt, socks, shopping bag, dress shirt), a 100-gram skein of cotton, linen, silk, or wool, or 1 metre of cotton, linen, or silk per participant, please. For the love of the planet, check your closets and thrift stores before buying new!

If you have questions, please reach out to susanfurneaux@gmail.com.
